Treatment

Bioidentical hormone pellets are made from either estradiol or testosterone and are roughly the size of a grain of rice to a Tic Tac. During a quick, in-office procedure performed under sterile conditions, our Medical Director will numb the area with a local anesthetic and make a small incision. The pellets are then inserted into the fatty tissue just beneath the skin—typically in the upper buttocks or flank area.

The incision is closed with adhesive strips, requiring no stitches, and you’ll be able to return to most normal activities shortly after the procedure.

Recovery

On average, hormone pellet implants provide consistent symptom relief for approximately 4 to 5 months. Following the procedure, it’s important to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for 3 to 5 days. This allows the incision site to heal properly and helps prevent the pellet from shifting or being expelled from the insertion area.
